Vacation in your own backyard
Have you ever heard a New Yorker say: I’ve never been to the top of the Empire State Building? Exciting "adventures" can often be found in our own backyard. So how do you discover them?

- Start with the Internet. Most cities and towns have web sites and they are easy to find. Go to Google and type in your town/city name and state.
- Look for links that read "Our History" or "What to Do" or "Local Sights and
Events."
- Stop by your town/city library. Most have a listing of attractions and events. Some libraries even have resident free passes to museums, aquariums, and botanical gardens.
- Many towns and cities have historical societies, chambers of commerce, and/or nature sanctuaries offering tours, programs, and events.
- Check the Sunday paper calendar of events. You’ll be amazed at all that is going on in your area.
