Local Holiday Fun

Shorter days don’t mean you have to stay inside – it’s a great time of year to get out there and create some lasting memories with the family. And you don’t have to break the bank to do it. So whether you live in a warm or cool climate, just dress for the season and head out for some fun!

Watch a parade go by.
With all the holidays and festivals going on, it’s easy to find a parade. And with all the costumes, music and floats, it’s easy to keep the family entertained for hours. Pack a snack like RealFruit Gummies to enjoy while you watch.

Go on a nature hike.
Cool, crisp air (and no bugs!) makes fall and winter a wonderful time for going on a hike and reconnecting with nature. Your kids can pick up leaves, sticks, pinecones and other goodies to make crafts with later.

Grab your ball and bat.
Head to a baseball field (or indoor batting cage if it’s chilly) near your for a friendly game. Bring a thermos full of hot chocolate and some Breaktime Chocolate Chip cookies to refuel after you’ve hit a homerun!

Visit local attractions.
Don’t forget all your city has to offer. Checking out a museum, art gallery, historical site or natural attraction can be a fun way to rediscover why you moved there in the first place. Be a tourist in your hometown!

Play a game of football.
It is football season after all, so why not gather the family and neighborhood friends and get your game on? And if all that exercise makes you hungry, enjoy a post-game snack like cheese and Breton crackers.

Plan your perfect outing.
Still stumped for things to do? Look online or in the Sunday paper for local activities and festivals. Or load up the car and take a mini road trip to a nearby town that’s got something fun going on. Don’t forget snacks for the ride!
